- The horror stickers to retaliate against reckless drivers

RECKLESS DRIVING is a public menace. However, retaliatory actions to “punish” such driving—such as brake checking—can be even more dangerous. Some even refer to it as potential manslaughter. It has been publicly called upon to reinforce regulations on retaliatory driving for the sake of safety on the road. There was a recent case involving a driver who put “horror stickers” on his rear windshield to scare drivers with their high beams on. Although it is driving etiquette not to turn on high beams except while driving on highways and rural roads as it blinds oncoming traffic and dazzles cars in front, such extreme measures only pose additional distractions. The driver was fined 100 thousand won for his actions. Dealing with rude drivers in an “eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth” fashion may satisfy our primal urges, but it is not the best answer to solving reckless driving. Nothing remains but chaos if we do so.
